Our beloved Senior Principal, Sylvester Ngei, passed away on 20/03/2026.

He was the Principal at Akuisi Senior School - Solai Nakuru and previously served at Utumishi Academy Gilgil. Son of the late Joseph Mutie Kyathe and Teresia Mbithe Mutie of Ndindiruku Village, Kirinyaga County. A loving husband to Cecily Wangari Ngei, and doting Father to Valentine Mbithe Ngei and Martha Njoki (Koki) Ngei.

A brother to the late Simon Wambua Mutie, Rosemary Mutie, Ceasar Mutie, and Polline Ceasar (Cents Traders), Kyengo Mutie, and Janet Kyengo.

Son-in-law to the late Gideon Githio and the late Martha Njoki.

Brother-in-law to the late Joseph and Jane Maina, Wilson and Hellen Mwangi, Lydia (Gastone) and Bernard Kamau, the late Boniface Kuria, the late Stanley (Sanyo), Peggy and Joel Gathungu, Christine and Stephen Mwangi.

Uncle to Ceci, Sandra, Ted, Tess, Maureen, Phoebe, Christian, Joy, Nyawira, Mutie, Purity, Kennedy, Wairimu, Kevo, Mike, Richu, Njoki, Patience, Purity, Gloria, David, Keshi, Faith, Harry and Precious.

Daily prayers and meetings are being held at The Grand Balcony Hotel in Gilgil Town from 7 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 9.00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, Gilgil and thereafter Final rites at his farm in Gilgil.

Fare thee well, Mr. Ngei—heaven can now enjoy your love, dedication and discipline of your cane.
