Shadrack Murugu M'Inoti was born in 1952 to the late Jeremia M'Inoti and the late Zipporah Kagembe in Rugomo Village in Mikumbune location, Imenti South Sub-County , Meru County.

He was the third born in a family of nine.

He was brother to the late Henry Kimathi, Silas Mbae, Lucy Nkirote, Rose Mwari, Janet Karimi, the late Elias Mutwiri, the late Julius Guantai and Justus Muriungi.

Shadrack was a loving husband to Jennifer Murugu. He was a great father to Dr.Rosebeth Kagwiria Lehnert, Albert Mugambi, Zacharia Murithi and Zephania Munene and a father-in-law to Daniel Lehnert, Betty Zack, and Melanie.

He was grandfather to Victoria, David, Noah, Josue and Joele.

He was In-law to Zipporah Kimathi, Mary Mbae, Joseph Mwirigi, Raphael Kinyua, the late Susan Mutwiri, Florence Karimi and Joyce Muriungi. 

He was namesake to Harrison Muketha (Murugu).

He was an uncle to many.
